No. 2 Langston Lions Coast By USAO 111-62

LANGSTON – Six players played scored in double figures as the No. 2 Langston University eclipsed another milestone in the Chris Wright era, dispatching the USAO Drovers 111-62 on Saturday night at C.F. Gayles Field House.

Langston remains undefeated at 15-0 overall and 9-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The Lions are 15-0 for the second straight season and the 111 points scored tonight marks the highest point total under head coach Chris Wright at Langston University.

Anthony Roy led the Lions with 26 points on the night on eight-of-13 shooting. D'Monte Brown posted a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards, G'Quavious Lennox added 14 and Cortez Mosley finished with 13.

Majok Kuath and Michael Wright also tallied double figures with 12 and 10 points apiece.

Jay Allen-Tovar scored the opening bucket off an assist by Mosley and the rest was history. The Lions never trailed and jumped out to a 12-2 advantage and never looked back as they entered halftime in front 65-31.

The Langston defense locked down the USAO attack, holding their offense to 32 percent (17-of-53) shooting and forcing 17 turnovers. The Lions outscored USAO 29-5 in points off turnovers and 46-20 in points in the paint.

Langston (15-0, 9-0 SAC) hits the road to face Oklahoma Panhandle State on Thursday, Jan. 18 in Goodwell, Okla. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
