No. 1 Langston Knocks Off No. 10 Mustangs 71-64

OKLAHOMA CITY – The No. 1 Langston Lions held off No. 10 The Master's 71-64 to move to 2-0 on day two action at the Abe Lemons Classic on Saturday afternoon.
 
Langston led by as much as 13 points in the second half, but the Mustangs worked their back in when Caden Starr hit a three-pointer to pull within three with 40 seconds remaining. On the ensuing offensive possession, Bryce Monroe knocked in two free throws to put Langston back up by two possessions at 69-64.
 
The Mustangs Deondre Earley and Starr missed back-to-back three-point attempts and once again the Lions picked up two free throws from Monroe to seal the game for Langston (2-0) at 71-64.
 
Monroe led all scorers with 22 points on eight-of-16 shooting; Jamison Epps was right behind him with 21 points on eight-of-13 shooting. Collectively, Langston hit 50 percent (22-of-44) from the field and finished 22-of-30 from the free throw line.
 
Langston (2-0) heads to Austin, Texas to take part in the AAUL HBCU Classic where they face Paul Quinn College on Saturday, November 9th. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
