No. 2 Langston Coasts By Eagles 123-65

BETHANY – Ronald Mitchell pumped in a season-high 30 points as the No. 2 ranked Langston Lions cruised by Southwestern Christian 123-65 on Saturday evening.

The Lions came out on fire in the first half, hitting 54 percent (19-of-35) and holding the Eagles to 30 percent (six-of-20) while building a 56-31 halftime lead. Langston is now 22-1 overall, 16-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference and remain atop the SAC standings with five regular season matchups remaining.

Mitchell finished the night hitting nine-of-15 overall with six three-pointers. Anthony Roy was right behind him with 27 points, Jay Allen-Tovar chipped in 18 and D'Monte Brown added 14. Toru Dean tallied his second double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 assists.

Collectively, the Lions hit 61 percent (46-of-75) overall, 16-of-32 from three-point range and 15-of-19 from the free throw line.

Langston (22-1, 16-1 SAC) is back in action on Monday, Feb. 12 at Central Christian College in McPherson, Kan. Game time is set for 7:45 p.m.
