No. 2 Langston Knocks Off Central Christian 90-54

McPHERSON, Kan. – Anthony Roy scored a team high 18 points as the No. 2 Langston University Lions roared past the Central Christian Tigers 90-54 on Monday night. 

The Lions hit 48 percent (13-of-27) from the field in the opening half and went a perfect 12-of-12 from the free throw, building a 39-21 halftime advantage. The same story carried over into the second as Langston hit 51 percent (17-of-33) and held the Tigers attack to eight-of-21 shooting in the eventual victory.

Langston improved to 23-1 overall and 17-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. Monday night's victory marks the 18th time this season the Lions have won by more than 16 points. The Lions now have an opportunity to clinch the SAC regular season title with a win over Wayland Baptist at home on Thursday evening.

Ronald Mitchell chipped in 16 points, Majok Kuath added 13 and D'Monte Brown chipped in 10 to round out the double-digit scorers. 

Langston (23-1, 17-1 SAC) returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 15 versus Wayland Baptist. Game time is set for 7:45 p.m.
