Lady Lions Defeat Southwestern Christian 79-73

BETHANY – Kameron Shelley scored a season-high 24 points, leading the Langston Lady Lions past Southwestern Christian 79-73 in Sooner Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

Langston led 70-69 at the 3:35 mark in the fourth when Shelley knocked in her fourth three-pointer of the day, increasing the Lady Lions margin to 73-69. Following a steal by Hailey Jordan, Kamesha Moore connected on back-to-back free throws to move the Lady Lions to 75-69 with 2:30 remaining. 

The Eagles never got closer than four points the rest of the way as Langston improved to 18-5 overall and 13-4 in the SAC. 

Mattie Boyd finished with 14 points along with Jordan and Moore chipping in 12 points apiece.

Langston (18-5, 13-4 SAC) returns to action on Monday, Feb. 12 at Central Christian College in McPherson, Kan. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
