Lady Lions Knock Off Wayland Baptist 77-58

LANGSTON – Kameron Shelley scored a season-high 25 points, leading the Langston Lady Lions past Wayland Baptist 77-58 on Thursday evening at the historic C.F. Gayles Field House.

The Lady Lions led 36-32 at halftime before turning up the heat in the third quarter, outscoring the Flying Queens 22-7 to lead 57-39 entering the fourth quarter. Langston led by as much as 28 points in the fourth quarter as they improved to 20-5 overall and 15-4 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Langston hits the 20-win mark for the first time since the 2015-16 season when the Lady Lions finished 20-8 overall and 14-4 in the Red River Athletic Conference.

Shelley finished the day 11-of-17 overall, including three three-pointers. Koreea Kirksey also notched double figures in scoring with 17 and Skylarr Little tallied 10 rebounds.

Langston (20-5, 15-4 SAC) hosts the Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggies on Saturday, Feb. 17. Game time is set for 2 p.m. inside the C.F. Gayles Field House.
