No. 2 Langston Escapes Texas Wesleyan 78-66

FORT WORTH, Texas – Anthony Roy poured in a game-high 29 points, leading the No. 2 Langston Lions past Texas Wesleyan 78-66 on Thursday night.

Langston led 63-62 at the six-minute mark when a bucket by Cortez Mosley kickstarted a 10-0 scoring run. The run was helped by a three-pointer from D'Monte Brown, two free throws by Roy and two free throws by Mosley to widen the Lions advantage at 72-62 at the 3:43 mark.

The Rams never got any closer.

The Lions move their winning streak to seven straight and are now 26-1 overall and 20-1 in the SAC. Roy finished the night shooting eight-of-14 and 12-of-13 at the free throw line. Mosley chipped in with 18 points as well.

Langston (26-1, 20-1 SAC) closes out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 24 at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
