Lady Lions Hold Off Texas Wesleyan 62-54

FORT WORTH, Texas – Four players scored in double figures as the Langston Lady Lions held off Texas Wesleyan 62-54 on Thursday evening in Sooner Athletic Conference play.

Tied 26-26 at halftime the Lady Lions used a pivotal 21-11 third quarter to surge in front 47-37. Langston pushed their lead to as much as 14 as they improved to 22-5 overall and 17-4 in the SAC; this is the first time since the 2014-15 season that the Lady Lions have tallied 22 wins on the season. 

Makayla Transou led the way with 14 points and Brittany Rivera followed with 11. Hailey Jordan and Kamesha Moore also racked up 10 points apiece. 

Langston (22-5, 17-4 SAC) closes out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 24 in Chickasha, Okla. The Lady Lions will face USAO at 2 p.m.
