No. 21 Langston Rolls Texas Wesleyan 74-56

LANGSTON – Three players scored in double figures as the No. 21 Langston University Lions knocked off Texas Wesleyan 74-56 on Thursday night inside the C.F. Gayles Field House.

Langston surged to a 37-20 halftime and never looked back, in the 74-56 victory. The Lions by as much as 23 points in the second half as they improved to 20-7 overall and 16-7 in the SAC. The win marks the third straight season of 20 wins under head coach Chris Wright.

Bryce Monroe led Langston (20-7, 16-7) in scoring with 17 points, Amoro Lado added 16 and Joshua Smith rounded out the double-digit scorers with 12 points.

Collectively, Langston hit 39 percent (22-of-57) overall and finished 20-of-29 from the free throw line. The Lions held Texas Wesleyan to 36 percent (20-of-55) overall and three-of-22 from three-point range.

Langston (20-7, 16-7 SAC) hosts USAO on Saturday, Feb. 22 at home. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
