MBB Primer: No. 4 Langston Hits the Road for Tulsa Challenge

SKIATOOK – The No. 4 Langston University Lions hit the road this weekend to take part in the Tulsa Challenge hosted by Oklahoma Wesleyan. The Lions open play versus Saint Mary (Kan.) tonight at 5:30 p.m. and square off against No. 10 Oklahoma Wesleyan tomorrow, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. All games will take place at Skiatook High School in Skiatook, Okla.

Here's a quick preview and rundown of information for Lions fans, to answer the most frequently asked questions leading up to the game.

The Matchup:

No. 4 Langston Lions faces Saint Mary (Kan.) tonight at 5:30 p.m. The Lions enter at 1-0 after knocking off Florida College 70-45 on Friday, October 24th. Marcedus Leech led Langston in scoring with 12 points followed by Treshawn Cody with 10. Friday's matchup will serve as the season opener for the Spires.

The last matchup between the Lions and Spires took place on March 14 in the opening round of the NAIA National Championship Tournament with Langston winning 64-51.

On Saturday, Nov. 1, the Lions clash with No. 10 Oklahoma Wesleyan, the Eagles open their season tonight at 7:30 p.m. versus Georgia Gwinnett College.

The Lions and Eagles also met last season on December 29, 2024, in a non-conference matchup at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. The Lions also prevailed in that matchup 80-67.
