Men's Basketball Ranked No. 7 in NAIA Coaches Top 25 Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The NAIA Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 has a new No. 1 with the Wildcats of Indiana Wesleyan. IWU received six first-place votes in the first regular-season release. Arizona Christian held at second with 11 first-place votes after dropping one game to Georgetown (Ky.), which was ranked No. 3 at the time. Then, Northwestern (Iowa) climbed five spots to No. 3 after receiving one first-place vote this week.

The Langston University men's basketball team entered the first NAIA Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Regular Season Poll ranked seventh, the national office announced. Langston is currently 4-1 and ranked seventh overall with 412 votes. They are the highest rated team in the Sooner Athletic Conference and return to action on Thursday, November 20th at Nelson University in Waxahachie, Texas. Under head coach Chris Wright, the Lions have been ranked in 16-straight NAIA Top 25 polls dating back to November 2022.

Poll Methodology
  • The national poll is for publicity purposes only and does not influence the selection process for national championship consideration.
  • A panel of head coaches representing each conference and the Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) votes in the poll.
  • The Top 25 teams are selected using a points-based system:
    • 30 points for a 1st-place vote, 29 for 2nd, 28 for 3rd, and so on.
  • The highest and lowest rankings received by each team are discarded before final tallying.
  • Teams receiving only one point are not listed as "receiving votes."
  • For the Preseason Poll, there is no "previous ranking" column since it is the initial poll and differs from the prior rating system.
